Apple Invests $2.5 Billion in Corning’s Kentucky Factory to Boost iPhone and Apple Watch Glass Production

Apple has announced a massive $2.5 billion investment in Corning’s factory in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, marking one of the company’s largest U.S. manufacturing commitments. The funding will be used to expand production of durable glass for iPhones and Apple Watches.

With this investment, Corning’s facility is set to boost its workforce by 50% and triple production capacity, reinforcing Apple’s long-term strategy to strengthen its domestic supply chain. Apple and Corning have collaborated for more than a decade, pioneering innovations like Ceramic Shield glass, which offers improved durability and protection for Apple devices.

The expansion is expected to generate significant economic growth in Kentucky, providing new jobs and increasing Apple’s reliance on U.S.-based manufacturing partners. Apple highlighted that this move not only ensures advanced material innovation but also supports American workers at a time when global supply chains are facing challenges.
