Tiger Kills Animal Handler at Oklahoma Big Cat Preserve

An animal handler was tragically killed by a tiger under his care at a big cat preserve in southeastern Oklahoma, the organization confirmed on Sunday.

According to officials, the incident occurred when the handler entered the tiger’s enclosure during routine work. Despite safety measures in place, the tiger suddenly attacked, leading to fatal injuries. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the handler was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The organization expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss, emphasizing that the handler was an experienced caretaker who had dedicated years of service to the welfare of big cats. Authorities have confirmed that the tiger will not be euthanized, as the attack is considered a natural instinct of the animal.

Local law enforcement is investigating the incident further, while the preserve has temporarily closed to ensure safety and review its protocols.
