Turkish Opposition Leader Alleges Erdogan Offered 300 Boeing Jets for White House Meeting
In a stunning political development, Turkish opposition leader Özgür Özel has accused President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of making a controversial promise to secure a meeting with the Trump family in Washington.
According to Özel, President Erdoğan allegedly promised Donald Trump Jr. an order of 300 Boeing aircraft in exchange for arranging a White House meeting. This claim, if true, raises serious questions about Turkey’s political and economic priorities, as well as the ethical implications of using national resources for political access.
President Erdoğan, however, strongly denied the allegations, calling them baseless and politically motivated. He confirmed that a meeting is scheduled for September 25, but rejected the claim that any such Boeing deal was tied to it.
Political analysts say that this controversy could deepen tensions between the Turkish government and the opposition, especially at a time when Turkey is struggling with economic challenges, inflation, and diplomatic balancing acts between the U.S., Europe, and Russia.
The White House has not yet issued an official comment regarding the allegations. Meanwhile, the story is gaining wide international attention as it touches on the sensitive intersection of politics, diplomacy, and business interests.
