According to the Nevada State Police, the crash occurred near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Russell Road around 7:30 a.m., just as rush hour traffic was building up. Several vehicles were reportedly involved in the collision, leading to extensive damage and heavy congestion throughout the area.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with long lines of vehicles backed up for miles. “Cars were barely moving for nearly an hour,” said one commuter. “It was one of the worst traffic jams I’ve seen in this part of town.”
Emergency responders, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, arrived quickly to assist those injured and to manage traffic flow. At least two people were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while others were treated at the scene.
Authorities temporarily closed multiple lanes in both directions to allow for cleanup and an investigation into the cause of the crash. Tow trucks were brought in to remove the damaged vehicles, and road crews worked efficiently to clear debris and reopen the roadway.
By late morning, all affected routes had been reopened, and traffic gradually returned to normal. Officials thanked drivers for their patience and reminded the public to drive carefully, especially during morning rush hours.
Investigators are still looking into what led to the crash, though early reports suggest that speed and distracted driving may have been contributing factors. Police have urged anyone who witnessed the accident to contact the Nevada State Police Traffic Division for more information.
