✈ Munich Airport Reopens After Drone Scare
Germany’s Munich Airport, one of Europe’s busiest travel hubs, has reopened after being shut down overnight due to multiple drone sightings. Authorities confirmed that dozens of flights were either canceled or diverted as a safety measure.
The disruption began late at night when airport officials detected drones flying near the runway areas, creating a serious risk to aircraft. Air traffic had to be suspended immediately to prevent any accidents. Passengers were left stranded, with many flights redirected to nearby airports such as Nuremberg and Stuttgart.
German police and aviation security teams are now investigating the incident to track down the individuals responsible for operating the drones. Such unauthorized drone activity near airports is strictly prohibited in Germany and can lead to heavy fines or even jail time.
Munich Airport resumed operations in the early morning hours once authorities ensured the area was safe. Travelers are being advised to check flight schedules for any remaining delays.
