Netanyahu Orders Strong Response After Second Hamas Attack in Rafah
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly ordered the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to take decisive action after Hamas militants launched a second attack on IDF soldiers in Rafah. The renewed assault marks an escalation in the ongoing conflict in southern Gaza, where Israeli troops have been carrying out military operations against Hamas strongholds.
According to Israeli military sources, several IDF soldiers were targeted in a surprise attack carried out by Hamas fighters, prompting Netanyahu to convene an emergency security meeting. Following the meeting, Netanyahu directed military commanders to "respond with full force" to ensure the safety of Israeli forces and to prevent further attacks.
The situation in Rafah remains tense, with continuous airstrikes and ground operations reported. Humanitarian agencies have expressed deep concern over the rising number of civilian casualties and displacement in the region. International calls for restraint and a ceasefire continue, but both sides show no signs of backing down.
