Over 2,000 Civilians Executed by RSF in El-Fasher, Sudan — Army Accuses Forces of Ethnic Cleansing

More than 2,000 civilians, most of them women and children, were brutally executed by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El-Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, over the course of two days, according to a statement from the Sudanese army.

The army has accused the RSF of carrying out systematic ethnic cleansing against local communities. Witnesses reported that RSF fighters surrounded several neighborhoods before launching attacks that targeted civilians indiscriminately. Homes were burned, and many people were taken away and later found dead.

This incident marks one of the deadliest episodes in the ongoing conflict between Sudan’s army and the RSF, which has devastated the country since April 2023. Human rights organizations have called for an urgent international investigation into the alleged war crimes, warning that the humanitarian situation in Darfur is rapidly worsening.
