Police say no suggestion stabbing attack on UK train was terror related
British Transport Police have confirmed that there is no indication that the stabbing incident on a UK train was terror-related. The attack occurred on Saturday morning when officers were called to a train near Southampton, following reports of a passenger being attacked.
According to police, a man was seriously injured and was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment. Another man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing, but they have ruled out terrorism as a motive at this stage. Police have assured the public that there is no wider threat to safety and that additional officers will be present in the area to reassure passengers.
The railway line was temporarily closed while forensic teams carried out investigations, but services have since resumed with some delays.
