📰 Sudan condemns support for paramilitary group RSF | BBC News

The Sudanese government has strongly condemned what it described as foreign support for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the powerful paramilitary group currently fighting against the Sudanese army.

In a statement, Sudan’s Foreign Ministry accused several regional and international actors of “fueling the conflict” by providing weapons, funding, or political backing to the RSF.

The government warned that such interference was prolonging the war and worsening the humanitarian crisis that has already displaced millions of people.

Fighting between the RSF and the Sudanese army erupted in April 2023, and since then, thousands of civilians have been killed, while food and medicine shortages have reached critical levels.

Khartoum has called on the United Nations and the African Union to take a firm stance against countries supporting the RSF, emphasizing that peace in Sudan can only be achieved through national unity and the defeat of the paramilitary forces.
