Trump Welcomes Saudi Crown Prince to the White House
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) is scheduled to visit the White House on November 18, where he will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump described the trip not merely as a meeting, but as a gesture of honor for Saudi Arabia.
During the visit, the two leaders are expected to sign major deals in several areas: defense (including a possible sale of F-35 fighter jets), artificial intelligence, civil nuclear cooperation, and more.
The White House has planned a full welcome ceremony, with a formal arrival, flag displays, cannons, and even a military aircraft flyover.
However, the visit is controversial. Critics highlight the 2018 Jamal Khashoggi killing, and the fact that MBS has been linked to that murder — yet Trump continues to maintain a close relationship.
Trump, on the other hand, argues that the relationship is not just strategic or security-based, but also economic: he claims that Saudi defense purchases will create many American jobs.
Another major topic on the agenda is the Abraham Accords — Trump hopes Saudi Arabia could move toward normalization with Israel. However, Saudi Arabia has consistently indicated that any such move depends on progress toward a Palestinian state.
Analysts see this visit as geopolitically and economically significant: it could deepen U.S.-Saudi ties in defense, technology, and investment, potentially shaping the strategic direction of b,oth nations
